Notes from St. Peter’s 12.6.2018

We will be providing “water teams” on the marathon route this Sunday. We need volunteers to man these stations from 7-10am Sunday morning, December 9th.This event is a fund raiser for our “Biscuit Brigade” which provides hot breakfast every Saturday and for the cold weather shelter when it is open.

This Sunday is our Second Saturday of the month – we will be preparing sack lunches in the kitchen between services Sunday morning.  We need help preparing sack lunches and delivering them – please show up in the kitchen to lend a hand.

  • Outreach committee is gathering socks, gloves, scarves and caps through the end of December – a container is located in the narthex, please consider donating an item or two.

  • Christmas Clothing drive – we are collecting new girls 6-6x tops and bottoms for the Harrison County Emergency Children’s shelter. All donations should be returned by Sunday, December 16th.

  • Angel tree – we adopt children and mothers who are have passed through the Gulf Coast Women’s Shelter for nonviolence or who are current residents of the shelter for Christmas.  Their wish lists are hanging on the “Angel tree” – we still have a few left to adopt.  Please return all

    unwrapped gifts to the church by Sunday, December 16th.

  • Vestry Nominations – if you would like to run for office or you know of someone else who would like to run, please be sure to complete a Vestry Nomination form and return it quickly.  The forms are located in the back of the church and outside the parish administrator’s office in the parish hall.

Christmas Season Schedule

  • Blue Christmas service will be Wednesday, December 12th at 6PM. This is a special service for those feeling left out of the Christmas spirit.

  • ECW Christmas party- Thursday, December 13th from 5-7PM – open to ALL ladies of the parish, please bring an hors d’oeuvres or wine to share.

  • Hanging of the Greens will be Sunday, December 23rd immediately following the 10:30 Service, please plan to stay for a while after the service and help us decorate – the more hands the lighter the work.

  • Christmas Eve services are 4PM (Family friendly service) and 10:30 (Choral Celebration)

  • Christmas Day worship at 11AM (casual)
