The ministry of the Altar Guild is one of sacredness and hospitality. The Altar Guild prepares the altar for all church services including celebrations of the Holy Eucharist, Baptisms, Confirmations, weddings, funerals and other special services. In addition to preparing the Altar, we maintain the various vestments and linens used for the services. In completing our tasks we insure the altar is ready and welcoming, inviting all who enter to join our Lord at His Holy Table. Contact: Ann “Buster” Milsted [eamlstd@yahoo.com]
Working in teams, members of the Flower Guild prepare the beautiful arrangements each week and other special services during the year.
No one needs to be an expert flower arranger; simply. people who love flowers and willing to learn to arrange. Contact: Sue Cassady [dslcassady@gmail.com]
Pastoral Care is a high priority at St. Peter’s by the Sea. It is the ministry of caring at the heart of the church life. It is often times just listening and caring in an informal way to one another. The Pastoral Care team is composed of caring parishioners who are committed to providing emotional support and love to our fellow members who are ill, home-bound, or experiencing a life crisis. This committed group provides services consisting of home communions, prayer shawls, personal notes, cards from the church and hospital visits; Flowers are delivered, a meal prepared, transportation provided to a needed appointment. In the event of a death, the Pastoral Care committee are always on hand for someone’s needs.
Licensed by the diocese, Lay Eucharistic Visitors take communion directly from the service to parishioners who are shut in at home or are hospitalized, and who are unable to attend church. Contact the church office at 228-863-2611 for more information on these vital ministries
We thank them all for their devoted service to these very important ministries.
