Resumption of services is beginning slowly and carefully and above all thoughtfully, with the health and safety of our parishioners in mind.

Please be aware of the following:

    • Everyone attending a service should have registered in advance (see below for more on why this is so important) and will be checked in upon arrival.
    • We are asking that everyone wear a mask.
Cloth masks will be provided for those arriving without them.
This simple act not only protects parishioners, but the vulnerable loved ones that they will return home to.
    • Communion will be in one kind: the Body of our Lord.
Designated stations will be used to maintain space between communicants.
    • Entrance, exit, pews, seating and communion stations will be marked accordingly to maintain physical distance for those NOT living in the same household.
    • Hand sanitizer will be liberally distributed throughout the church in easily accessible locations.
    • Printed materials will include the entirety of the services.
Prayer books and Hymnals will not be available in the pews at this time but attendees are encouraged to bring either a personal BCP or an electronic device for accessing the bulletin (available each week to download from our website)
    • The Peace will be shown by non-contact means.
Air hugs, heart hands, peace signs, curtsies and jazz hands are all acceptable.
    • The offering plates will not be passed but placed near the exit and a QR code will be included in our printed material for on-line giving.
    • At this time, we will not have Fellowship Gatherings (coffee hour) or Adult Formation (Sunday School) and the nursery will not be available.

*Musical offerings will include instrumentals or soloists.

Congregational and choral singing is discouraged as this could spread as much a cough or sneeze, for a prolonged period of time. Enjoy our soloists or feel free to hum along ! And remember…
The Lord hears the praises in your heart as well as those on your lips.

To insure anyone wanting to participate in an in-person service, St. Peter’s by-the-Sea is asking parishioners to select only one of the eight services to attend.*

Sign-up will be made through our website or by phone.
This reservation system will ensure we keep our attendance within the thresholds recommended.
With that said, we recommend anyone belonging to a vulnerable population   (older adults, the immunocompromised, those with underlying conditions such as asthma or diabetes and others as defined at this CDC link) and anyone feeling ill should stay home for now.

All of our services will continue to be streamed on-line and we invite everyone to continue to worship with us virtually. If you are having trouble viewing our services on-line, or signing up for a service, please contact Gail (228-760-0179).

Please note:
  • St. Peter’s is undergoing a rigorous cleaning and sanitization prior to our re-opening and subsequently between each service following the guidelines set forth by the CDC/EPA (link)

  • We are following the “Safe Worship” guidelines issued by our Governor (link)

  • Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 after attending a service should contact St. Peter’s immediately so that everyone at that service may be notified. THIS is what contact tracing is and the reason we MUST have an accurate list of everyone in attendance at each service.

  • And, remember, for everyone’s safety, progression toward fully reopening may be halted at any time if an increased risk of spreading COVID-19 occurs.

Information on Outreach activities such as Biscuit Brigade and Sunday Sack Lunch Bunch will be available soon.
Vacation Bible School will not be offered this year BUT… watch this space for on-line summer activities for our kids.

*Once everyone has had a chance to sign up for one service, we invite you to attend an additional service.
