A few words from Father Patrick

Good People,

It seems as though we are going to be doing this for a while. I want to say that I am so proud of the good people of St. Peter’s By The Sea for being so flexible, loving, kind, and creative as we have tried so hard to navigate this strange and unfamiliar environment while continuing to reimagine what it means to be the church in an ever-changing and confusing world.

Considering the new CDC recommendations, we will continue to have masks and hand sanitizer abundantly available for those more comfortable wearing them. We have a large room in which to worship so please feel free to spread out and even take advantage of the transepts and extra pews to the left and right of the altar. I have reached out to our nursery and Sunday school workers to make sure that they will be wearing masks when they work with our children who are currently unable to be vaccinated.

My children will be wearing masks in church just as they will in school. Given the needs of leading worship I will not be masked while preaching etc but I will be wearing a mask as I move around our holy space amongst such holy people. We will absolutely continue to provide on-line worship opportunities on Sundays and Wednesdays for those folks in our community who find it best for themselves to stay home.

This past Sunday I was so inspired by our willingness and ability to work and worship with one another given our varying comfort levels and boundaries. I simply ask that we continue to pay attention to the boundaries and wishes of those with whom we share our space. We are all learning how to greet one another and love one another as best we can!

As always, BIG LOVE!
