Welcome to our Parish
St. Peter’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church is a faith community that seeks to equip and nurture persons to live out the love of God and to share the message of Jesus Christ through servant ministry to the greater community.
We respect the dignity of all persons regardless of national origin, race, gender, age or sexual orientation, and welcome and encourage them to participate fully in all areas of our parish life.
Our worship and all of our common life together centers on the Holy Eucharist, which we share together each Sunday. Jesus shared bread and wine with his first followers and we believe that his risen presence can be found in this Sacrament.

Gracious Gatherings
EYC meets each Sunday at St. Mark’s
ECW meets the second Tuesday of each month at Noon in the Great Room
Episcopal Ladies Night Out The last Tuesday of each month we will gather around 5:30pm for social time with meal beginning at 6PM. Destination TBA.
Men’s Grillin’ Group Gather at the church the last Tuesday of each month at 6PM.
Bereavement Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30.
Alzheimer’s Support Group meets the fourth Friday of each month at 2.
Casting Nets meets each Wednesday at 2pm

Rooted in Tradition
In 1902, St. Peter’s was recognized by the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi as an organized mission. On January 21, 1921, St. Peter’s became a parish. Throughout its life, St. Peter’s by-the-Sea has been involved in the community: from opening its parish hall to Gulfport Little Theater productions in the 1930’s, to feeding the hungry during the Depression and becoming a headquarters for the distribution of information and relief after Hurricane Camille in 1969. After recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Camille, St. Peter’s continued to grow and prosper throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s. On June 26, 2000, St. Peter’s by-the-Sea consecrated the Gothic style building at our present address on Beach Drive. On August 29, 2005, …
Adult, Youth and Children’s Formation
We offer a variety of thought provoking, interactive programs for everyone be they young or old. We recognize that individuals in different stages of life have different needs. Our Christian formation programs are an opportunity to ask questions, to enrich faith, and to support all persons in their spiritual journey. We offer a full set of classes for every age group, providing fun and interesting instruction in the Christian faith and life. Children also have the opportunity throughout the year to participate in a variety of enrichment activities and outreach projects. Outreach, Evangelism and Community Involvement
St. Peter’s by-the-Sea has a long history of active participation in our community. As a downtown church who understands the nature of Christ’s command to be in this world, we support a number of local ministries that help feed, clothe and minister to those in need. You will find our parishioners serving on boards, helping deliver meals and building homes. We believe the church must exist outside her walls …
